My name is Wendy Liswaniso. I am 14 years old. I was born on the 26th of July 2004 in Windhoek. I school at Immanuel Shifidi Secondary School. It is a nice school and its clean and beautiful. I am in grade 8E. I live in Wanaheda with my mother and my brother. My father passed away when I was 11 years old. Now I have a step father but I still miss my real father. I love my family because they are always there when I need them.
When I was in grade 4, I struggled with school work and my marks were very low. In grade 5 there was this open program which was organized by the BAS. I came to the program every day, so they asked me if I want to join the BAS.
Everyday we come from school and get lunch first, then we have a meeting with everybody and after that the tutorial time starts. At that meeting we announce important things and talk about good and bad things that happened. Every Friday we have life skills where we speak about important things and do fun activities. At the begging of every term we have the award ceremony. During that ceremony we award the best students from BAS for the work at school and also at BAS.
I learned a lot of things and BAS gave me everything I wanted. I learned to never give up and to be committed to something. BAS educates me and I am very thankful for that.
The best basketball players also travel to another countries and they are also playing for the national team of Namibia.
